Zachary E. Story, 23, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011. Zack was the youngest of Douglas and Paula Story’s two loving sons. He is survived by his parents, his older brother Matt, his sister-in law Allison and his niece Savannah. He was an avid soccer player. He enjoyed water sports and any other activities that provided that “200 mph with his hair on fire and hell raising thrill” type of attitude.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, girlfriend and countless friends.
The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23322 on Friday from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm with a celebration of Zachary’s life immediately following. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the “Zack Story Memorial Fund” at any Bank of Hampton Roads or Gateway Bank and Trust locations. They can also be made at Altmeyer Funeral Home. Because you two were such wonderful and adoring parents, we can rest assured that Zach is in the hands of our Father. He had a great life here with an awesome family. Thank God that we have the promise of seeing him on the other side. We will continue to lift you up in prayers and will always remember the sweet boy that he was.

I just want you to know that Zach touched my heart and my family the first time I ever met him. He had that special SMILE and a twinkle in his eyes that just welcomed you.
He brought laughter to my family, smiles and great times. He was a true country boy with such good manners.
I can see him right now sitting at my counter with his face turning beet red from me joking him and Ashley. Then he would turn the joke right back on me! He would let you play but he was going to have the last word!
You know we are here if you need anything. Zack will always be with us no matter what. He is a shining STAR just like everything he ever did.
Try to stay strong but cry when you need to cry! You are loved by so many dear friends.

Our son Justin and Zack were the best of friends and we were keepers of the wild bunch more than once at our home in Moyock when the guys were able to get together to blow off some steam.
Zack will be a great lost to Justin and missed by our family. He was always a gentalmen when in our presence and our home. Storyland Family… I do not even know how or where to begin with the sadness I feel inside of this most precious loss of yours. It goes without saying how much Zack means to me and how much I love him and love all of you. We are family in all definition of the word. Zack was so darn ornery and stole my heart immediately when we became neighbors. So many happy memories. And a few where I had to disapline him and he just knew when you got home from work.. I would be the one in trouble!! LOL. He followed Jerald around and he didnt see the difference in years.. he just loved to hang with my son. I think there is a permanent worn path between our homes on Glendale Ave. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and am a phone call away any time of the day or nite.. just pick up the phone.
