WOODROW BENJAMIN SETZER

Woodrow Benjamin Setzer, 90, passed away on November 24, 2003.

He was a homebuilder, general contractor and real estate broker. Mr. Setzer was a member of the New Beginnings Christian Church in Chesapeake and the Gideons International.

He is survived by three sons, Richard W. Setzer, Sr. and wife, Marilyn of Virginia Beach, Alexander A. Setzer and girlfriend, Juanita of Chesapeake and James H. Setzer and wife, Peggy of Chesapeake; 5 grandchildren, Richard W. Setzer Jr., and wife, Deborah, Joseph D. Setzer, Sharon L. Davis and husband, Mike, Kimberly M. Couch and husband, Robert and Erica Lynn Setzer; seven great-grandchildren, Shawn W. Setzer, Kenneth Melton, Jr., Trevor Setzer, Thomas Jennings Couch, Shannon L. Setzer, Jennifer Melton and Lindsey Setzer.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 2:00pm in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. I know you don’t remember me.It’s been along time since I have seen you. Just wanted to send my condolences to you and your family.

To Richard & Alec–I’m sorry to read about your dad. I remember you in Norview because we were your neighbors, behind you. I delivered mail in South Norfolk and saw your dad several times when they were living about a mile or so from Hudson’s Exxon, in the development behind the trailer park. I saw Richard a few times at dances where i played tenor sax for the Hi Fi’s. I saw Alec once when he was repairing someone’s chimney in South Norfolk. I live between South Boston and Lynchburg on 48 acres of woods, raccoons, possums and great solitude. My father died in ’92 & mom liveswith Alzheimer’s in Mesa, Arizona; in an assisted living home. My sister Shirley, lives, with her husband, in the mountains west of Reno, Nev. Is your mom still living? Sorry time to contact you but…
