WETZEL, Wilma Louise Wahl, 82, formerly of Wheeling Island, Wheeling, WV., died Monday, March 18, 2002, in Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling. Wilma was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Ignatius and Louisa Freise Wahl. She was a homemaker and a member of the former Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Wetzel, 1964; and an infant brother John Wahl. Surviving are two daughters, Linda L. Mouhlas and her husband Dr. Gus Mouhlas of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Barbara A. Kucera and her husband, Greg, of Wheeling; a son, Charles J. Wetzel and his wife Sun Ok of Fairborn, Ohio; a sister, Sydnie Ellis of Wheeling; eight grandchildren, John and Angela Mouhlas, Misty Anne, Charles W., Joanna and Christopher Wetzel, Matthew and Natalie Kucera; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m Wednesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, with the vigil service being held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, at St. Joseph Cathedral Wheeling, with the Rev. Larry Dorsch as celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Memorial contributions may be made to Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Homestead Avenue, Wheeling.

Dear Linda, Barb & Chuck, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom – Wilma – I remember when Chuck when he was in high school and I was I think 10 yrs old used to come to our house on North Erie Street to hang around with my brother Lou. My mother, Norma she passed away 8/16/2000 and Wilma knew each other through Blessed Trinity and through their sons. I’m sorry I missed paying my last respects to her and seeing all of you. I would really liked to have seen Chuck agian – please let him know how sorry I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
