I read with great sadness the passing of Mert. He and Bernadine were good friends of my parents and I remember a number of vacations taken together. One included a trip to Washington DC were Mert and I climbed every step to the top of Washington Monument.
A good husband, father, Mason and overall great man.
I worked with Mert at T.E.M.S. in the 80`s he was a very nice man and well liked. He also traned me as a Dispatcher and showed me a lot of things. To the The Truax Family you are in my prayers. God Bless you all.
It was my privilege to care for Bernadine and Mert at The Inn at Wyngate. They were truly part of the “Greatest Generation.” Mert was lovable, a gentleman, and I’ll always remember his singing. My sympathy to you, Pat. You were a great daughter – have no regrets.
Sincerely, Charlene Deter laundry lady
My condolences to the family
On behalf of Helen Howcroft and her daughters, I send our thoughts and prayers to your family. We spent many a vacation with Mert & Bernadine and their extended family. They shared their “country home” with we City girls and we loved them like they were our family.
