William J. Reddy, 84, of Bethlehem, WV, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University after a short battle with esophageal cancer.
He was born November 9, 1930 in Wheeling, a son of the late Michael J. and Edith Melchiori Reddy.
Bill was a retired Examiner with the IRS, a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, OLP Council #12195, Knights of Columbus Golf Club, Serra Club, Treasurer of the Laymen Retreat League, volunteer at the Catholic Charities 18th Street Center and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dolan Reddy in 2006.
Surviving are five daughters, Rita Reddy Parise and her husband Thomas, Kathleen Louise Orians and husband Jerrod, Amy Elizabeth Reddy all of Columbus, OH; Fran Reddy Druffner and her husband George of Ellicott City, MD; Ann Reddy Siegel of Germantown, MD; a son, Michael Joseph Reddy and his wife Patricia of Shelby, NC; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St, Wheeling/Elm Grove Chapel, where Vigil services will be held at
7:00 p.m., Laymen’s Retreat League Services at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Dennis Schuelkens as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
Memorial contributions may be sent to O.L.O.P Church or School, 640 Old Fairmont Pike, Mt. Olivet, WV, or Catholic Charities, 126 18th. St., Wheeling.

I remember Mr. Reddy from the times he did audit work at Wheeling Steel. A true gentleman. May light perpetual shine upon him.

M heart hreaks for all of the family get togethers, Vacations, not to mention the oo test running St Patrick Day prank that existed in the Ohio Valley. Too man memories of pool parties and family get togethers to recount. Our parents and family fridnship sets a model for all of the Reddy and Morton children to remember. With that in mind, I send my deepest love and prayers to you all. Our parents brought us together but I send my own love and prayers to yiu all.

Mike and Patty sorry for your loss. Mr and Mrs Reddy were a great couple and had a great family. Mike I’m sure you were stomped on by all those girls! Have a safe trip! The weather is not the best to be traveling in especially under these circumstances. Watch the mountains they are terrible!
