William J. Novick, 75 of High Street, Benwood, died April 19, 2001 in Wheeling.
He was born May 4, 1925 in Moundsville, W.V., son of the late Victor and Minnie Ralston Novick. He was a retired mill operator for Benwood Limestone Co., a member of the American Legion Post 46, and the Sons of Italy in Bellaire, Oh. He was a catholic by faith and a Army veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eddie Lou Mackin.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah A. Scaffidi Novick; three sons, William A. ”Bill” Novick and his wife Janice of Wheeling, Victor A. Novick and his wife Vicki of Glen Dale, and Samuel J. Novick and his wife Patty of McMechen; two sisters, Josephine Shia of McMechen, and Marcella Byard of McMechen; Eleven grandchildren, Tara, Bill Jr., Nick, Christopher, Bobby, Tommy, Matthew, Eric, Jonathan, Shane, and Ryan Novick.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday April 21, 2001 at 10:00 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen with the Rev. Gervase Cain T.O.R. as celebrant.
