William F. Derrington
Age 76
William F. Derrington 76, of West 4th Street, East Liverpool, Ohio, died Thursday, August 9, 2001 at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on August 3, 1925 and was the son of the late William H. Derrington and Lillian E. DeYarman Derrington.
Mr. Derrington, a lifelong area resident, retired from the former Crucible Steel Mill in Midland, Pa, where he worked as a shipping clerk. He was a 1947 graduate of East Liverpool High School and was a 20 year veteran of the US Navy, serving during World War II and Korea. He was a member of VFW Post 5647.
He is survived by a brother, C. Donald Derrington and his wife, Helen of East Liverpool, Ohio; two half sisters, Mildred Weston of Wellsville, Ohio and Virginia Andrus and her husband, Russell of Salem, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes today, Saturday, August 11, 2001 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Larry Rose of Northside Community Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell, West Virginia where the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Calcutta one hour prior to the service today.
