William F. Culp
Age: 90

William "Bill" F. Culp, of Washington Street in Wellsville, Ohio, died at his home on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 8:35 am, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on December 9, 1912, in Wellsville, Ohio, to the late George and Lillian Sheets Culp. William spent his lifetime residing in Wellsville, Ohio and spending his winters in Arcadia, Florida. He worked as a Jiggerman for the Homer Laughlin China Company for 34 years, before retiring in 1978. He was a veteran of The United States Army serving during WWII, he was a member of the Wellsville American Legion Post 70, the Wellsville VFW Post 5647, the Friends of Ascension, the Freeway Ramblers Campers Association, the Buckeye Rovers Retired Campers, Craig’s Park Association in Florida, and was also an avid sports fan. He was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in East Liverpool, and the Ascension Church of Wellsville.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, William C. Culp, a daughter, Linda Sue Culp, and four brothers, Blaine, Leonard, Clarence and Carl Culp.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Irene Glover Culp, whom he married on December 6, 1941, a son, Jack and his wife Carol Culp, of Newton Falls, Ohio, two daughters, Carol and her husband Frank Morrell, of Lisbon, Ohio, Jane Kozora, of Weirton, West Virgina, a daughter-in-law, Leah Culp, of Pinellas Park, Florida, 8 grandchildren; Cathy Culp, Tammy Sharpe and her husband Bill, Lori Krider and her husband Steve, Traci Brown and her husband Matt, Frank Morrell and his wife Jennifer, Jennifer Walsh and her husband Dennis, Jacqueline Schoeffel and her husband Todd, and Joseph Kozora, 9 great-grandchildren; Noah and Meadow Sharpe, Taylor Schoeffel, Alex and Dennis Walsh, Levi and Ethan Brown, and Courtney and Frankie Morrell, also his dear friends; Rodger Miller and his wife Diane, of Wellsville, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Ascension Church in Wellsville, Ohio on Monday, August 4, 2003 at 11:00 am. Father Scott Woodstuff, of St. Stevens Episcopal Church in East Liverpool, Ohio, will be will be officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group.

Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville, Ohio.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Sunday, August 3, 2003 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Bycroft School and the Employment Development Corporation Workshop.
