Bill and I grew up next door to each other. He taught me a lot about growing up, getting on the right track and working hard. Bill loved to fish.We had a few fishing trips that I and a few others will never forget. We had some great times camping in Hatteras and hiking at Crabtree Falls. One of the funniest trips was when we went out and nothing was biting. We decided to stop at a bar and have a few beers, quite a few beers!

When we got home, Bill backed the boat in right through the garage

door! Boy was Jane mad, probably because it was her dad’s boat! I could go on for hours about all the crazy good times we had. I just want to say that everyone that Bill knew has lost a good friend. I will always remember everything he taught me whether it was about fishing, camping or building a house. My thoughts are with his family during these hard times. Remember all the good times we had with him. Rest in peace Bill Miller.

Bill and I went to KHS together and shared many hours in the gym with Bill at wrestling practice and me at gymnastics practice. I remember his ready laugh and upbeat view of life, always gentle and always present. It’s a blessing to have his friendship and I count on him greeting me when it’s time for me to go to heaven. My sympathies to all the family for this loss.

Peace.

Bill was my son, Joe’s, Graphics teacher and wrestling coach at FCHS. Joe called me from South Carolina when he learned of Bill’s passing. He told me Bill really had a great influence on his self confidence and introduced him to architecture which has been his successful career. Our prayers are with your family.

It was my great pleasure to have Coach Miller as both my drafting teacher and wrestling coach. He taught many things that established a strong foundation on who I became as person today.

I can still see and hear in my mind Coach Miller sitting in the wrestling room encouraging us to become better wrestlers by practicing hard, pushing ourselves and striving for excellence. Life lessons I still use today to help myself become a better professional, father, husband and friend.

My prayers are with the whole Miller family.

My heartfelt sympathy to Bill’s family. Mr. Miller was my mechanical drawing teacher at FC. Although i was a rather poor draftsman, Bill never gave up on me. Earning a “B” in his class was my great achievement in high school. Thank you Bill and may God richly bless your family.

Thank you Bill for inviting me to wrestle at FC back in 83. I was mediocre at best and I learned a hard lesson I’ve never forgotten- quitters never win. In Mechanical Drawing class, you demonstrated time and again that only perfect practice makes perfect. I will never forget you, Coach!
