William E. “Butch” VanDyke
Age: 68

William E. “Butch” VanDyke 68 of State Route 45, Wellsville, died on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Pleasant View North Retirement/Rehabilitation Center in Lisbon, OH following a lengthy illness. He was born in East Liverpool, OH on August 6, 1940, a son of the late Virgil and Della Mae Baker VanDyke.

Living his entire life in this area, he attended Wellsville High School and after working at many trades, retired as a truck driver for PGT.

His wife, Carol Kellogg VanDyke, whom he married on October 29, 1959 survives him at home.

Three sons: Carter Lee VanDyke and his wife Linda of Lisbon, OH, William VanDyke, II and Mark VanDyke and his wife Holly all of Wellsville, OH; three daughters: Diane Decker of Richmond, OH, Kathleen Messenger and Della Snider both of East Liverpool, OH; one brother: Virgil VanDyke, II of Wellsville, OH; one sister: Bertha Gallaher and her husband Charles of Greenville, MS; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive him.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at his home at 25831 State Route 45, Wellsville on Monday, July 6, 2009 from 2-4 PM.

The family requests that no flowers be sent and memorial contributions be made to the senders favorite charity.

Arrangements were handled by the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes.
