WILLIAM D. COOPER, 79, of Powhatan Point, OH, died Monday, November 3, 2008 in the Acuity Specialty Hospital of OH, Steubenville, OH.
He was born February 4, 1929 in a son of the late William and Ruth Reese Cooper.
William was retired from the Operating Engineers Local #18, Akron, was a Methodist, and a member of the Powhatan Moriah Lodge and the Scottish Rite-Steubenville, and was a Navy veteran.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his fist wife Mary Ellen Hreben Cooper in 1985.
Surviving are his wife Mary Helen Kovaly Cooper, and 2 sons; Mark W. Cooper and his wife Lori Ann of Powhatan Point and William Michael Cooper and his wife Leanna of Shadyside, 6 grandsons and 2 great granddaughters.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 186 Main St., Powhatan Point, where services will be held on Friday at 11:00am with Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Powhatan Fire Department and Emergency Squad.
