William A. Rust, 89, of Wheeling, WV., died Thursday, July 25, 2002, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
He was born Sept. 20, 1912, in Wheeling, a son of the late Joseph and Clara Boch Rust.
He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry, Ohio plant and Belmont Technical College, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling Elks Lodge No.28, Wheeling; and a member of the Cave Club, South Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna E. LaFlam Rust; a son, William "Gary" Rust; a daughter, Brenda Dubs; three brothers, Rudy, Harry and Joseph Rust.
Surviving are six grandchildren, William Michael Rust and his wife, Jean of Atlanta, GA., David Gary Rust and his wife, Rosanne of Meadville, PA., Kathleen "Kathy" A. Rust of Wheeing, James E. Rust of Pittsburgh, PA., Stephanie A. West and her husband Kris of Columbus, OH., Michelle L. Bergstrom and her husband, Donald of Seattle, Wash.; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew Rust of Meadville, Jonathan Rust of Atlanta, Max Rust of Meadville, Nicholas Rust of Atlanta, Coury Rust of Pittsburgh, Michael West of Columbus, Katie West of Columbus and Marcus Rust of Meadville.
Friends received noon to 3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling, where vigil services will be held at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, followed by a 7:30 p.m. Elks Lodge 28 service.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. James Sobus as celebrant. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 159 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, WV 26003.
