Wilbur Zanders, 74 of West 6th Street, East Liverpool, Ohio, died at his home on Thursday, July 5, 2001 after a brief illness. He was born in Andersonville, Georgia on June 4, 1927, a son of the late Jonas Zanders and Rosetta Carter Zanders.
Mr. Zanders lived in this area most of his life, working at the former Crucible Steel as a mechanical grinder for 35 years before his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Mt. Sinai FBH Church in Wellsville and the John Washington Masonic Lodge.
Josephine Franklin Zanders, his wife of thirty two years, died on April 19, 1987.
He is survived by one son: Jeffrey Zanders of Fairfax, Virginia, one brother, Luchious Zanders of East Liverpool, Ohio; one sister, Ethel Williamson of East Liverpool, Ohio and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at the Mt. Siani FBH Church in Wellsville on Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Theodore Johnson of the church officiating.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
The Wellsville Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
