OBITUARY NOTICE

Walter C. Long
Age 66

Walter C. Long, 66, of Globe Street, East Liverpool, OH passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at The Medical Center of Beaver, PA, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Lisbon, OH on October 2, 1941, a son of the late Kenneth & Pearl Green Long. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Long was a self employed mechanic, once working for Grand Ford. He was a 1959 graduate of East Liverpool High School, a veteran of the US Army and was a former member of the Tri County 4-Wheelers. He also enjoyed hanging out at the Broadway Warf and Nascar racing.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Tatgenhorst Long, whom he married September 12, 1970. Also surviving are four sons, Todd Tatgenhorst and his wife, Elaine of East Liverpool, Terry Tatgenhorst and his wife, Amy, of East Liverpool, Walt Long and his wife, Michelle of New Waterford, OH and William “Bee” Long of East Liverpool; three daughters, Tawnya Myrick of East Liverpool, Kendra Trainer and her husband, Jay of Alexandria, VA and Kelly Cochran and her husband, Don of Rogers, OH; two sisters, Doris Reese and her husband, Don of Chester, WV and Delores Long of East Liverpool;
14 grandchildren, Eric & Ashley, Jason, Katie, Christopher, Jacob, Jared, Dillon, Garrett, Andrew, Sam, Ashley, Brandon, Tori & Taylor; and was expecting his first great-grandchild in August.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Dick Cochran, officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Friday, April 18, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
