RUST, W. Gary, 66, of 122 Gaewood Terrace, Wheeling, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling with complications from lymphoma.
Gary was born in Wheeling on July 4, 1935 a son of William Bill A. and the late Anna E. Rust. He was a lifelong resident of Wheeling.
Gary was a retired self-employed HVAC Professional. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Elm Grove. He is the Past Exalter Ruler, Past Trustee, Past Entertainment Committee Chairman and current Esquire of B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 28 in Wheeling. He is also the Past Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus No. 504 where he is a member in Wheeling, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Golf Club. In addition, he is a member of the Knights of Columbus Charles Carroll Assembly No. 1185 and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
In addition to his mother Anna, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda L. Dubs of Cleveland, Ohio.
Surviving are his father, Bill Rust; three sons, Michael Rust and his wife, Jean of Atlanta, Ga., Dr. David Rust and his wife, Rosanne of Meadville, Pa., and James Rust of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Kathleen Rust of Wheeling and five grandsons, Matthew, Jonathan, Max, Nicholas and Corey.
Friends will be received Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Monday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. H. Joseph Wilhelm S.M. as celebrant. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge and vigil services will be held on Sunday.

I went to grade school with Gary and Brenda. I was in the HVAC business also. He was a great guy. Will miss him.
