Vivian Rose Ipock, 57, of Newport News, was called home to be with her heavenly father on January 13, 2012. She was born on February 20, 1954 in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Cliffie E. Ipock and Esther M. Gilbert. Vivian was self employed for many years providing home health care to the elderly or those in need. She had a passion for animals and also provided sitting services for her furry friends. Vivian is survived by her son Chad Morris and wife Kim of Ruckersville, VA; two grandsons, Ethan Morris and Tristan Ferrell. She also leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Catherine Butler and husband Barney, Diane Strimatis and husband Vito, her three brothers, William Bill Ipock and wife Nina, Dennis Ipock and wife Peggy, and Ennis C. Gilbert III and wife Terri. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews as well as special family and long time friends Judy, Bunny, Becky, Brenda, Sheri and Molly. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17th at 10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA 23608. Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park. “I shall forever remember my dear friend when I see the beauty of a rose”

Chad and family. Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Just knowing she is with the lord and is no longer suffering will hopefully help you get through this rough time. Know that you, Kim and the boys are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless and may she rest in peace.

Chad and Family. We are so sad about the passing of your Mom too soon. We will miss her visits at special times and on holidays. We will remember her smile, her laughter and how she enjoyed life and enjoyed being with family. Our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Chad, Kim, Tristan, Ethan & Family Members,

We were deeply saddened to hear of Vivian’s passing . We extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to you during this very difficult time. I know she will be greatly missed, and we will miss her especially during the holidays, birthdays, etc. We will always have fond memories of her warm smile and her kindness. Chad, your mother, Vivian was one of the first people I met when I moved to Virginia in 1972, she lived across from Peytons store~~ she & I shared lots of laughs, as well as some tears, she was a kind and wonderful friend, always smiling~~ Vivian was BEAUTIFUL in side and out.

I pray that God wraps his loving arms around you and your family to comfort you with his

Vivian’s Family and Chad. I will always cherish the fond memories of Vivian’s visits on special occasions and for her allowing us to share in Chad’s life.Vivian was so close to our family and was always especially kind to my Mom and Dad and fun to be around. Vivian will be greatly missed. Chad you are a wonderful nephew.
