Vivian Irma Bittler, 80, departed life on September 6, 2013 at Heritage Hall in Virginia Beach. Born in Washington, DC, she moved to Norfolk and retired from NCTMSLANT as an IT Specialist after over 40 years of service. She is predeceased in death by her parents, Alfred and Helen Duxbury; aunt, Mabel Duxbury; brother, Kenneth Fugate; husbands, Richard Shook and Arthur Bittler; daughters, Beverly Shook and Robin Sullivan; son, Richard Shook. She is survived by her brother, Robert Duxbury; sons, Timothy Shook, Scott Bittler, and Robert Bittler; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 12 at 1pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 5792 Greenwich Rd., Virginia Beach. Burial services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
