OBITUARY NOTICE

Virginia Rose McComas
Age: 82

Virginia Rose McComas, 82, of East Liverpool, OH, died Wednesday night, September 11, 2013 at East Liverpool City Hospital due to complications from a lengthy illness. She was born in East Liverpool, OH on December 17, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Keim & Goldie Hughes McCoy.

She was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a wife, mother and grandmother and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 66.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wirt McComas, Jr on January 19, 1989. They were married on August 25, 1950.

She is survived by four sons, William McComas and his wife Darolyn, of East Liverpool, OH, Robert McComas of Boardman, OH, Charles McComas and his wife Penny of East Liverpool, OH, and Kenneth McComas of Wellsville, OH; a daughter Sandra Scurlock of East Liverpool, OH; a brother, James McCoy of East Liverpool, OH; four loving grandchildren, Melissa McComas of East Liverpool, OH, Meghan Klenotic and her husband Luke of Ravenna, OH, Matthew McComas of Newport News, VA, and Michael McComas and his wife Charissa of Apex, NC; two great-grandchildren, Kiersten and Kayla McComas of Apex, NC along with numerous nieces & nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosetta Gilbert and Vera Conaway.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 3 P.M. with the Rev. Eric Edwards of the St. John Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Saturday from 1 P.M. up until the time of the service at 3 PM.

The family requests memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity in Mrs. McComas’s name.

I haven’t seen dear Virginia since I was a child but the wonderful memories still linger on. She was my favorite Aunt and I want to say may you rest in peace Virginia…you will be missed by your loving family. I won’t forget you. Love Karen Shanteau
