Shook, Virginia Gayel Allen 97, of Cameron, WV died Friday, October 31, 2008 in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.
She was born on September 20, 1911, in Marshall County, to the late Harry and Clarice E. Mason Allen.
Gayel was a life-long resident of Marshall County and a member of the Wolf Run Presbyterian Church, Cameron, WV. She was an employee of the Marx Toy Company, Glen Dale, WV. Gayel enjoyed her farm and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bob Shook; a daughter Kathryn Shook; three brothers: Blaine, William and Donald Allen; and three sisters: Louise Allen, Lenore Snyder and Doris Coffield.
Surviving are two daughters: Geraldine Norman Stenback of Ukiah, CA. and Rexine Roy West of Cameron; three sons: Ronald Shook and Kenneth Shook, both of Moundsville, and Wayne Judy Shook of Cameron; and a sister Jean Arlie Kittle of Cameron.
Eleven grandchildren: Larry Stenback, and Richard Debbie Stenback; Sharon
Richard J DaRe, Perry Donna West, and Shelly Byran Buzzard; Rick Cheryl Shook; Michael Jeanne Shook, Robert Dawn Shook, and Douglas Shook; Steven Kelly Shook and Lisa Doug Pegg. Ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes and Kirby-Vance 118 Moundsville, WV where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cindy Foster officiating.
Interment to follow at the Wolf Run Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cameron, WV.
