Norfolk-Violet Rachel Simpson Jenkins, 87, died September 7, 2001 at Lake Taylor Hospital.
A long time resident of Chesapeake, VA, she was a native of Plymouth, NC. She was the widow of LeRoy Jenkins.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy K. and Walter L. Askew, Jr. of Norfolk; a grandson, Bret L. Kellihan of Alexandria; a sister, Connie H. Leary of Chesapeake; a very special nephew, Donald E. Keller of Portland, ME and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, Monday evening from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Fairview Church of Christ Tuesday at 2:00pm., followed by a brief service at Riverside Memorial Park.

Aunt Violet was a witty, wonderful person. My life has been blessed in many ways because of her. I have a lot of fond memories of her. As she slipped from this world to the next she still maintained her wit. My children were able to see and enjoy this in her also. She is missed by all
