DOLECKI, Veronica “Verna” M. Oblizajek 94, of Wheeling, WV, died Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born January 12, 1918 in Rochester, NY, a daughter of the late Andrew and Frances Woznica Oblizajek.
She was a former employee of the Louis Marx Toy Company, a member of the former St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Wheeling, Rosary Alter Society, a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, and the Polish Roman Catholic Union.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Dolecki, who died serving in WWII.
Surviving is one son, Dr. Larry S. Dolecki and his wife Patricia of Baker, WV; two grandchildren, Kathryn Dolecki Landberg and her husband Michael of Lynwood, NJ; Sarah E. Dolecki and her husband Lars Wigren of Brooklyn, NY; one brother, William Oblizajek of Toledo, OH; two sisters, Jenny Simcic of Mesa, AZ; Donna Richter of Glen Dale, WV; a great-grandson, Zachary Landberg, several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 7-8 p.m. Monday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September, 11, 2012 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home Chapel with Rev. John Beckley as celebrant.
Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

Dad feels very sad that he can’t make the trip to say goodbye to his sister, whom he loved very much. “Butcy” misses you all. Dad, Jill and I and our kids all send our prayers for Ciocia and best wishes for everyone there. God Bless.

Larry, I am so sorry for your loss. Over the past three months, I was able to visit with your mother at Good Shepherd. My mother is also a resident since April.
