VELMA CATHERINE ARCHER 88 of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Friday June 6, 2008 at the Shadyside Care Center in Shadyside, Ohio.

She was born April 18, 1920 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late Thomas F. Goldsmith and Velma Pierson Frick.

She was retired from the Infant and Childrens Department of the former Hart’s Family Center, a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside, the O.U.R. Class and the Order of Eastern Star #581 Shadyside Chapter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George W. Littleton, Sr. on January 29, 1964, her second husband, Elmer V. Archer on February 7, 1984 and a sister, Ellen Weekley.

Surviving are her son, George W. Littleton, Jr. of Shadyside, Ohio, two sisters, Minnie Scales of Shadyside, Ohio and Eileen of Florida and one brother, Thomas Cathy Goldsmith of Bakersfield, California. Also four grandchildren, Lisa Grunewald, Brian Littleton, Brent Littleton and Kimmie Littleton and two great grandchildren, Nathan Grunewald and Grace Grunewald and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Monday from 2 to 8 pm where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with the Rev. Donald Perks officiating. Interment in the Davis Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.

Order of Eastern Star services will be conducted on Monday at 7 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shadyside Fire Department Association 4210 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio 43947.
