Dear Evelyn and Family,

Obviously, we have many fond memories of Valentine. He was very proud of being the oldest living member of Oakland Church. His gifts and interest remained high during my years as pastor there. We enjoyed a good friendship with lots of good story-swapping! He stopped by the church pretty often when he would see that I was there. He seemed to just enjoy being there. He had a good heart and a great love for his family. He was very proud of you, Evelyn. If I had known just a little sooner, I would liked to have come to the funeral; sorry! I do appreciate Rick Anderson for passing along the news and this site. Since moving from ELO, I have missed Val’s annual gift of delicious pound cake! :- Be assured of our prayers for you all!
