Tony Vallelonga 82 of Powhatan Point, Ohio died Sunday December 21, 2003 at the Peterson Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born April 6, 1921 at Four States, West Virginia a son of the late Joseph and Mary Circosta Vallelonga.
Tony was a retired electrical foreman for the First Energy Corporation’s R. E. Burger Plant in Shadyside, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Powhatan Point, Civilian Conservation Corps, president of the Powhatan Point Board of Public Affairs for ten years, he also served on the Powhatan Point Village Council. He was a member of the VFW Post 5565 and past commander of the American Legion Post 228 both of Powhatan Point. He was president of the board of the Powhatan Cemetery Association. Tony also served in the US Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Vallelonga.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen Richardson Vallelonga, one son, Richard Lena Vallelonga of Powhatan Point, Ohio, one daughter, Carmella Vallelonga of Clarksburg, West Virginia, three sisters, Rose Guy Gianino of Lynn, Mass., Carmela Foreit of Dunedin, FL. and Josephine Doyel Williams of North Hollywood, CA. Also one grandson, James A. Vallelonga of New Martinsville, West Virginia.
Services and interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio were held on Wednesday December 24, 2003 with Rev. Greg Stone officiating.
