Thomas R. LaBeau

Thomas Richard LaBeau, 73, of the Estabrook area of Norfolk died on November 18, 2001.

Born in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Daniel and Hazel LaBeau, Tom retired from the U.S. Navy in 1967 as a Master Chief Boiler Technician after 23 years of dedicated service. He served in the Korean and Vietnam War. Tom served in the Merchant Marines from 1967 to 1970 and went on to work as general foreman for Norfolk Naval Shipyard Power Plant Shop 03, retiring in 1989.

He was a Protestant, active in the Estabrook Civic League and a member of Fleet Reserve Association #60

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Eloise LaBeau; son, Dennis Ross and his wife, Rosemary of Moyock, North Carolina; two step-sons, Larry Jones of Missoula, Montana, and Mike Jones of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Vivian Miller of Battle Creek, Michigan and Nona Konefko of Lansing, Michigan; three grandsons, Timothy, Daniel and Jeffrey Ross; two granddaughters, Lacey and Crystal Jones; several nieces, nephews, dear friends and ”Lacey” his beloved dog. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Chet LaBeau.
