Theodore George Morris

Theodore “Ted” George Morris, Command Sergeant Major, USAF Retired, died on November 26, 2008. He was 91 years old. Ted was residing at Warwick Forest in Newport News since 2003.
Ted Morris served 30 years with the United States Army Air Corps, Army Air Forces, and US Air Force through World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Tactical Air Command Inspector General Team at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, in 1973.
He was very active in the Hellenic Community of Newport News, VA having served on the Board of Trustee and various committees of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. He was also an active member of the American Hellenic Education and Progressive Association Order of Ahepa having served as an officer and on the Board of Governors. He was a member of the Air Force Association, Air Force Sergeants Association, NCOA, and the 8th Air Force, 379th Bomb Wing Association.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and his wife Chrysula Morris.
Survivors include his niece Mary Lou Medlock and her children, Alexis and Danny; his nephew John Georgian; and his brother-in-law Elias Lou Georgian, all of Connecticut; his goddaughter Maria Jacovides of Virginia Beach; his godson James Pafudakis of Mobile, Alabama.
A Trisagion service will take place on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 7 pm with visitation to follow at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am, Monday, December 1 at the church by the Rev. George Chioros and the Rev. Peter Makris. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park with full military honors.
