Thelma Corbin, age 83, of Sherwood Road. Wellsville, Ohio died at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Friday, February 22, 2008, after a brief illness.

Born in Meadowbrook, W.Va. on June 18, 1924, Mrs. Corbin was the daughter of the late Earl W. and Edna Cather Daniels. She had lived most of her life in this area, was a homemaker, and a member of the Wellsville Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Corbin loved and enjoyed being with her family.

She was preceded in death on October 17, 1997 by her husband, Edward “Ed” Corbin; they were married on December 11, 1943.

Survivors include a son, Earl “Mick” Corbin of Wellsville, a daughter, Susan Davidson and her husband, Cork, of Wellsville. A son in law, Glenn Poynter also of Swanton, Ohio. Seven grandchildren; Roland and Kimberly Middleton of Swanton, Ohio, Mike and Christina Thomas of North Royalton, Oh., Rick and Daisy Davidson of Wellsville, Jeffrey Poynter of Las Vegas, Nev., Stephanie and Pastor Dirk Hall of Wellsville, Amanda Davidson of Wellsville and Jason Corbin of Wooster, Ohio. Nine great grandchildren; Katie and Kyle Tonjes, Josh Middleton, Shayla and Corbin Hall, Shane Thomas, Allison and Danielle Schell, and Katelyn and Peyton Davidson. Other survivors include her best friends, Betty and Pete Pelley, and Toni, Joyce, and Rich Ruble, as well as her faithful companion, “Babe”.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Corbin was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Poynter, a daughter in law, Karen Corbin, a brother Edward Daniels and a sister, Betty Jo Gamble.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, February 25, 2008, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Church officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today from 12 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. and up until time of services on Monday.
