Tessie Wanciak Dulina, age 97, passed away at Marina Bay, a part of the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community, on March 14, 2015. She was born December 4, 1917 in Seymour, CT to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wanciak. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Major Retired Andrew S. Dulina Sr., five brothers; Joe, Pete, Eddie, Phil, and Bill Wanciak, and two sisters; Anna Baranak and Helen Limbrunner.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister Dottie Healey of Oxford, CT., son, Colonel Retired Andrew S. Dulina III Rita of Virginia Beach, VA., daughter Darlene Gillingham Tom of Vero Beach, FL., son, David A. Dulina Fran of Oklahoma City, OK., grandchildren; Heather Gillingham Harris Brian of Wichita, KS., Thomas A. Gillingham Misha of San Diego, CA., Christian A. Dulina of Virginia Beach, and Teno Dulina of Okahoma, great-grandchildren; Taylor Chapple, Tyler Chapple, Caden Dulina, Addison Dulina, Laila Duarte, and Lili Duarte, and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a wife of a career Army officer, Tessie lived in many different places including Germany and Okinawa before settling into life in Brooksville, FL and subsequently, Virginia Beach. She will always be remembered as a caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family unconditionally and someone who could always find a way to brag about their accomplishments.
A private service will be held at a later date in Villa Rica, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
