I have good memories of Terry, and they always include his smile – he had a good one!
Terry and I flight instructed together at Mercury Flight Center in the late 90’s and we also flew skydivers for Chesapeake Skydive. The last time I saw him was accidentally running into each other at a local Home Depot. We talked for awhile and tried to catch up – he seemed very happy that smile!.
Terry – you were well liked by so many; you will be missed by all! May your family be comforted by the wonderful memories you’ve shared.
I have so many fun memories of you going way back in our Magic Hollow days Uncle Terry. I could list so many of them but this only allows 1000 characters, lol. I couldn’t be at your memoriam today due to medical issues but I can assure you I was there with you in spirit. You were a great man and a funny one at that. Words can’t express what I’m feeling. I love you. Heather
My baby brother, how I will miss our talks & visits, your testing me every moment, and your love. I will see you again, Love you so much, Sister
My Deepest Condolences May Terry Rest in Everlasting Peace And May God Grant the Family Peace.
R.I.P. my love! You touched parts of my heart no one will ever touch, I can almost hear you making a sick joke outta that! You were an amazing Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, Grand-Dad, Pilot, Guitarist. You loved all the babies in the family we built…I will tell them how amazing you were, everyday! You and I shared years 41 of ups and downs but we were always there for each other, I miss you so much, I love you Terry….
Rip Terry, you were a good, man, father, and husband. Rest in peace my friend and soar with the eagles. You will be missed
RIP Terry. truly the best father in law a guy could ever ask for. Been in my life for the last 30 years ,and I’m a better person because of you. You were a great example of how a father should be, and I always looked up to you, well maybe not for the first 6 months…. But for the last 30 years for sure. CHEERS!
Terry started training me for my private pilot license at Mercury Flight Center at the Hampton Roads airport back in 2000. I completed my requirements because he was an excellent CFII, a patient man He had to be with me, and I considered him a good friend. Even today I tell stories of memorable flights we had together, and what he put me through, but it was all good.
To his family I say, I am so sorry for your loss as it was hard for me to understand as well. He was a fun, easy going person that will be missed. He made a difference and I will always remember his Smile and the cool sunglasses when he rolled in that C-172. He would make me squirm and look at me and just laugh while sweat was rolling down my back. I am proud to say he cut my shirt tail off. I also want to say Thanks Terry Butt, you made a difference! And thanks to your family for letting me have the opportunity to share my flying adventure with You!
I know he has a set of permanent wings!
RIP Terry!!
The tears just won’t let up Terry, I am so sorry you were taken away from me but I assure you we will meet again!! I love you so very much, Mom
Words just can’t say:
Until we meet again.
Love you like a brother!
