ZIMMERMAN, Sylvia Mae Bandi, 79, of Wood Street, Wheeling, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.
Sylvia was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Boydsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Albert T. and Mary Belle Ashworth Bandi.
She was a former employee of Wheeling Stamping and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Patter Zimmerman in 1983; a sister, Lillian Leigh; four brothers, Kenneth, Paul, Eddie and Wayne Bandi; and a grandson, Chaz Thomas in 1992. Surviving are two daughters, Wilma Childers, and Patty Wells and her husband, Anthony; three grandchildren, John Childers, Nicole McCardle and her husband, Craig, and Brittany Thomas, all of Wheeling; and several loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2002, with Pastor Judith Campas officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

patty and wilma ..i am very sorry i couldnt come.i have known syl and patter almost all my life.i will always remember patter messing with me over skipping school and syl always telling him to stop teasing me.i dont have to many good memories from mccolloch st as a kid ..but syl and patter always seemed to make my bad days better.u guys know i dont respect to many people in this world ..but i will always have respect 4 them.they made my child hood a little easier.and i will never forget them.anything that u guys need please ask.
