Suzanne Carol Munro Hickling

Virginia Beach – Suzanne Carol Munro Hickling, 71, passed away on December 8, 2007 in her home in Virginia Beach, VA. Mrs. Hickling was born March 14, 1936 in Buffalo, NY along with her identical twin sister, Barbara Ann Munro. She spent her childhood in Kenmore, NY. She was the daughter of Charles and Henrietta Munro and had eight siblings.
Mrs. Hickling was active as a popular regional performer in her teens having been invited to sing on various radio and television programs in addition to various community performances. She was a graduate of Kenmore NY West High School. Suzanne participated in the Miss New York State Pageant as Miss Cheektowaga. She advanced to the finals where she won the talent portion of the contest and finished as 3rd runner-up overall.

She married Harley Hickling in 1959 who was a pilot for the US Navy. Suzanne was primarily a homemaker throughout her life. Her interests were music, arts and crafts, working in her yard, and spending time with friends and family. She greatly enjoyed travels around the US and the world
