Steve Andrew Hornyak, 83, of Bellaire, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 in the Heartland Lansing Nursing Center, Lansing, Ohio.

He was born Dec. 4, 1922 in Bellaire the son of the late Andy and Theresa Jacobs Hornyak.

Steve was a retired steel worker with Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant, was a member of the Sons of Italy, and IAC, and was an Army veteran of WWII.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his wife Mary Helen Hornyak in 2001, two brothers, three sisters and a grandson, Rick Hornyak.

Surviving are three children, Carol Suchan of Bellaire, Carma Peeples of Pava, Ga., Rick Hornyak of Neffs; a sister, Irene Keys of Springfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jenny Riggs and Kevin Bell, and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or service at the funeral home.

Friends are invited to attend graveside services at Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire on Saturday at 10:30 with Msgr. Gene Mullett officiating.

Memorial contribtions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
