Malatinsky, Stephen A., 90, of Wheeling, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, in the Ohio Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 24, 1911, in Wheeling, a son of the late Paul and Anna Stanek Malatinsky.
He was a retired truck driver from 3 C’s Trucking Company. He was previously employed by Wheeling Transfer for 35 years also as a truck driver.
He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society at St. Alphonsus, and was a former Eucharistic Minister at St. Alphonsus. He was also a member of the Third Order of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, an Associate Member of Marian Movement of Priests, and a member of the Eucharistic League of Santa Clara Monastery in Canton, Ohio.
Mr. Malatinsky was also a member of Teamsters Local 697, Wheeling, the Ohio County Senior Association, and was a member of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, an organization for mental health.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and John Malatinsky; and a sister, Mary Logamarcino.
Surviving are his wife, Helen R. Marchlenski Malatinsky of Wheeling; a son, Robert S. Malatinsky of Wheeling; a daughter, Miriam Deinhardt and her husband, Regis ”Dino” of Wheeling; a brother, Paul Malatinsky of Minster, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christina M. Deinhardt-Costain and her husband, Doug of Wheeling, Ann Marie Deinhardt of Wheeling; and two great-grandchildren, Alena Margaret Costain and Christopher Stephen Costain, both of Wheeling.
Friends received 7-9 p.m. Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Patrick Condron as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, and rosary at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
