Stanley Shultz, 86, of Dilles Bottom Shadyside, Ohio died Tuesday January 15, 2008 in the Sommerville at Chestnut Hill Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born May 9, 1921 in Reedsville, West Virginia a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Zadroga Shultz.

Stanley was a retired coal miner with the former North
American Coal Company’s Number 3 mine at Dilles Bottom, a Protestant by faith. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge # 754 in Bellaire, Ohio and the American Legion Post 521 in Shadyside, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Stella Shultz including an infant sister, and one brother, John Shultz.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Anne Postage Shultz, one daughter, Mary “Mickey” Perdue and her husband, Marc of Gahanna, Ohio, one sister, Mary DeBlasis of Bellaire, Ohio, three brothers, Walter Shultz of San Diego, California, Louis and George Shultz both of Shadyside, Ohio. Also two grandchildren, Lisa Kelley of Gahanna, Ohio and David Pond of Dallas, Texas and two great grandchildren, Brock Kelley and Victoria Kelley both of Gahanna, Ohio and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Monday at 11 am with Charles Hart officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery at Powhatan Point, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shadyside Emergency Squad 4210 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio 43947.

Hi Mickey,

I was sorry to hear that your stepfather passed away.You and the family have our sympathy.I see that you are still living in Gahanna. I am in Lancaster, may sometime we can get together.I haven’t seen anyone from our class since the last reunion.

I really wish I could be there with all of you to honor Uncle Stan. I have enjoyed remembering the great times when we were all a lot younger. Probably my fondest memories of him involve the many lamb roasts we had down there. Those were such good times. I will miss him.

The North American Coal Reunion will truly miss Stanley at our annual reunions! He was a faithful supporter and always added his humor to our day. Our sincere sympathy to the family.
