MOROSKO, Stanley R. 91, of Dimmeydale, Wheeling, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at his home.
Stan was born June 14, 1914 in Wheeling. He was a staff reporter for the Wheeling News Register before joining the Army during WWII. He served in the European theatre, including the Battle of the Bulge, and received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, among other honors.
After returning from the service, he operated Morosko Photo Service for many years and was a track photographer at both Wheeling Downs and Waterford Park.
In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Morosko; and two sisters, Lucy Glasscock and Stella Vargo.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Helen Evans Morosko; a daughter, Michele Burrington and her husband John of Houston, Texas; and a brother, Joe Morosko of Martins Ferry.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, 1225 National Road, Wheeling
