Komorowski, Stanley R., 88, of Moundsville, WV, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at home.
He was born November 26, 1921 in Moundsville, a son of the late Raymond and Veronica Paradish Komorowski.
Mr. Komorowski was a retired employee of Ohio Edison and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, having participated in the first wave at Normandy Beach on D Day. He was a member of the American Legion, Earl Francis Post #3, the VFW Post #437, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, all of Moundsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica F. Pyrek Komorowski; four brothers, Joseph, John, Fred and Mitchell Komorowski; a sister, Stella Kowal.
Surviving are his daughter, Martha “Jan” Madden of Moundsville; a grandson, John Thomas Madden, IV of Moundsville; two sisters, Geneva Cicholski and Sophia Metz, both of Moundsville; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation or service.
Arrangements by Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville.

Dear Jan and John,

I did not know your father/grandfather, but he was obviously a very fine man to have produced and nurtured such an intelligent and compassionate daughter, as well as grandson. My sincere condolences and GOD BLESS you both.

So sorry to hear of your dads passing. May God embrace you at this time when your heart is heavy. Hoping you will find peace and healing.

You had a wonderful Dad . I think of many warm and special thoughts of him as we were growing up. He was special to me.

I’m sad to learn of Stash’s passing.You all have my deepest sympthy. He was a handsome,kind & funny person.Although,I haven’t seen him in years, he has a special place in my heart not only because he was my cousin but he was also my “Godfather”.May you rest in peace, Stash!

To the Family

Sadden to learn of Stanley’s passing, he and i worked at the Burger plant together. He was a fine man and a friend. When ever i needed someone to talk to he was there for me. Being a young person his words wisdom keep me going on hard days.
