Stanley Thomas Siudak
Age 86

Stanley Thomas Siudak, 86, of Bloomfield Road, East Liverpool, Ohio died Thursday, May 8, 2003 at Nentwick Convalescent Center following a brief illness.

A man who loved life, laughter, jokes, sports, the outdoors and his family, he was life long area resident. He was born in Chester, West Virginia on July 5, 1916, the son of the late Walter and Cathryn Kurish Siudak.

Mr. Siudak was a Plumber/Pipefitter with Local 87 for 32 years, retiring in 1978. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II on the Destroyer Escort, USS Paul G. Baker as an electrician. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, swimming and woodworking and shared his joy with others. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville, Ohio.

Mr. Stanley was a hard worker and passed his good work ethics along to his children. He excelled in math in school and was a beloved Pop-Pop to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His wife, Dolly Helen Siudak, whom he married in 1935, died April 27, 2003.

He is survived by a son, Thomas Siudak and his wife Bernice of Calcutta, Ohio; two daughters, Constance Kostecka and her husband, Joe of Mentor, OH and Sylvia Boyd and her husband, Jerry of Glouster, OH; a brother, Michael Sudak of Toronto, Ohio ; a sister, Cecilia Gibas and her husband, Frank of Madison,
OH; 7 grandchildren, Michael Kostecka and his wife, Maria of Houston, Tx, Julia Kostecka and her husband, Evan Hubenka of Rochester Hills, MI, Beth Hooper and her husband, Tony of Manhattan, NY, Dan Kostecka and his wife, Tammy, of Gaithersburg, MD, Cynthia Anderson and her husband, Jeff of East Liverpool, OH, Judy Ketchum of East Liverpool, OH and Thomas Siudak and his wife Michele of Brimfield, OH; 10 great-grandchildren, David Kostecka and Katie Kostecka, both of Houston, TX, Kyle McGrath, Philip McGrath and Wade McGrath all of Rochester Hills, MI, Marcelo Kostecka Stenzel of Gaithersburg, MD, Grace Hooper of Manhattan, NY, Mattie Anderson and Samantha Ketchum, both of East Liverpool and Dylan Siudak of Brimfield, OH.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, David Ronald Siudak, a brother, Joseph Siudak and two sisters, Mary Kozora and Helen Whitley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Community Parish on Monday, May 12, 2003 at 10:00 AM with Father Bernard Gaeta as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Wellsville, Ohio where the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Sunday, May 11, 2003 from
4:00 to 8:00 PM.
