Amazing how quickly we hear about people with the technology today. I received the news of Mrs. DeLong’s passing over the internet and have forwarded it on to several other former students. I have been forever greatful that Mrs. DeLong was my English teacher in the 50’s. She was tough but excellent! I’ll never forget her.

I wish to express my gratitude to Mrs. DeLong and I have many memories of the English class in 8th grade and especially the diagraming we did. It was such a big help in the many years since then.

Miss steinert was not to be trifled with…she meant business. Her business was to teach in the very best way she knew how..and the results were stellar. Her students wrote notes and letters long after their graduation telling her just what a difference she had made in their lives. Oh that the world would be packed with educators of her ilk!

Mrs. DeLong was my English teacher also. I must echo what others have said, she was very strict but I have always felt she was one of my very best teachers. She cared enough to not always be “the most well liked” teacher so that her students would learn, above all else. I have always respected this dear lady. May God bless you with many fond memories of a devoted teacher & friend!

Uncle Bill, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will all miss Aunt Sophie’s kindness and sweet smile, and our girls will always remember their great-aunt’s wonderful doll collection! And how nice to read the comments of so many former students. We were blessed to be part of her family.
