Popicg, Sophia, 78, of Benwood, WV, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 in Moundview Nursing Home, Moundsville, WV.
She was born January 31, 1930 in Glen Dale, WV, a daughter of the late Eli and Lata Stanovich Popicg.
Sophia was a member of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Steubenville, OH.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Mike, Roxy, Steve and Rudy Popicg, three sisters, Mary Popicg, Macy Funari and Mildred Hall.
Surviving are two sons, Timothy L. Popicg of Wheeling, WV; Patrick M. Popicg and his wife, Caroline, of Benwood; three grandchildren, Chelsea M. Popicg, Eli P. Popicg and Emil P. Popicg, two brothers, George Popicg and Nick Popicg, both of Benwood; several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

We were truly sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. Sophie was a good hearted women. I know she took care of me when ever I was at your house running the streets with Pat. I will never forget the friendliness and kindness she extended to me. If you guys need anything don’t hesitate to ask.
