Shirley H. Temple, 74, of Bellaire, Ohio went to be with her Lord on Tuesday August 15, 2006 from her home surrounded by family and friends.

She was born August 12, 1932 in Shadyside, Ohio a daughter of the late Fred F. and Mabel Witchey Burnett.

She was a member of the West Bellaire United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters, Ernestine Evans and Phyllis Gene Bumgardner and her granddaughter, Allison Mills.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-two years, James K. Temple, her daughter, Lynne Mills and her husband, David and her granddaughter, Ashlee Mills all of Bellaire, Ohio, nieces, Marcia Ann Castello of Sandusky, Ohio and Erin Leber of Clyde, Ohio and nephew, Ford Evans of Sandusky, Ohio.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Thomas L. Jones and Rev. Kevin Leasure officiating. Interment in the Holly Memorial Gardens at Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Hospice, Inc. 132 Peters Run Road Wheeling, West Virginia 26003.

Dear Jim and Family, You have my deepest sympathy. Shirley was a wonderful person who loved her family. I square danced with you and Shirley for a few years. Hold on to your wonderful memories & may God comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Dear Jim, I was sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. It was because of her that I met my wife , Roberta Caswell. While she was in nursing, she had Bobbie write me while I was in the Navy. We had 52 years together before she passed in December. I will always have fond memories of Shirley and wish you the best. It doesn’t get easy, but it does get easier.

I so fondly remember your mother as such a kind and loving woman. She always helped with our West Bellaire School holiday parties. Mrs. Temple always made us feel so special.
