LADA, Shirley Ann Scott Schmidt, 67, formerly of Arcadia Place, Mozart and Brookpark Place, Wheeling, died Monday December 1, 2003 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Shirley was born June 15, 1936 in Putnam Township, Ohio, a daughter of the late Thomas D. and Estella Loges Scott. She was a homemaker, a member of the V.F.W. Post #437 Auxillary, Moundsville, and the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, where she served for the Lord’s Pantry and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel G. Lada in 1994 and her grandson, Miichael Bulian in 1995.
Surviving are her two daughters, Sherry Varlas and her husband Brad of Moundsville and Kimberly Prisner and her husband Jeffrey of Wheeling; a sister, Linda Scott Hupp and her husband John of Wheeling; three grandchildren, Jonathan Bulian of Moundsville and Ashley and Hayley Prisner of Wheeling; several nieces, nephews and her loving cat, Pumpkin.
Friends will be received from 1-9 pm Tuesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling. Visitation will then continue from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am Wednesday December 3, 2003 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Linda Glass officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church or Marshall County Easter Seals.
