SHERWOOD F. BERNARD SR.

VIRGINIA BEACH- Sherwood Franklin Bernard Sr. “Big Buddy”, 67, passed away in his home on February 22, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Wesley Ann Bernard; three children, Debbie A. McReynolds and husband, Robert; Cheryl A. Ruffin and husband, Gene C., and Sherwood Bernard Jr. “Buddy Jr.” and wife, Cheryl Ann; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Billie Jean Anderson of Florida; and his dog, Skipper. He was predeceased by a son, Bernie Bernard.

The visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach on Monday, February 25, 2008 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Bernard’s name may be given to the American Cancer Society at 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452.

Ann & Family,

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Buddy Bear. It’s been a long time since I saw him and when I’d get the chance to see old friends from Moon Engineering his name would come up with many great memories. I wish you and yours well. Billy

Miss Anne, you probly do not remember me, but I lived at the corner of jeanne and dorset. Dispite where i came from Buddy Jr. and I were friends. Mr. Bernard as I knew him, was a kind man. I remember when debbie lost doug, and my heart felt for your family. I remember Bernie and the sweet side of him. he will always be missed. Mr. Bernard is in the presence of god, and is seated at his table. find comfort in god, have faith, and live. to heaven Buddy Sr., and the angels shall lead you.
