Dear Sherry,

You had the heart, soul and smile of an angel. You made me laugh each time we saw each other here in the city of our youth.

Each time our class will get together, you will be thought of. That first time being this Friday. We will lift a glass to you, our friend and toast to the good times we had together. May you be the brightest star in heaven.

Love, Sandie

Dear Sherry,

I was blessed to know you and to work with you at the ARE Call Center. I always carried your pamphlet in my purse: FACING STRESSFUL TIMES WITH HOPE. You probably know by now, how often I would re-read it. Today, I would like to share a potion of the prayer you included on the last page. Perhaps it will provide comfort to friends and family to hear it again.

“Help us to remember that, while it is right to grieve, on the level of timelessness no soul can ever be damaged.”

Yours on the journey,

I will remember the smiles, laughs, confidences, the “knowings”… the memory of your sassy “ou la la’s” will forever make me smile! My teacher, my friend, you made a positive impression on my soul and I will remember you always with fondness. See you on the other side. Love, love and more love.

It is hard to read this and finally find my friend from Holy Name Grade School. I knew her as Sheryl and we were close friends as little girls. When her family moved I lost track but would ask about her over the years. She made an impression on me as it is apparent she impressed many people over her lifetime. Please accept my condolences. From my “2nd Grade self”, miss you still and rest in peace.

My dearest Sherry. I told you many times I wanted to be you when I grew up. Your zest for life, you infectious smile, your “smurf” laugh will carry me through.

I will miss you dearly. I will always remember you calling me “Mary” because of my love affair with roses of all kinds. I will remember you at my sabbath dinner with the boys, I will remember the Madonna picture you gave me, the Village People Concert and our breakfasts of sharing.

I wish we had more time. Others knew you longer than I did, but you made an impression on me that made me feel like I knew you forever.

Love you, my dear, sweet Gemini soul. Be at peace and know that you made a difference in so many lives. I love you.

Thank you for blessing us in so many ways – through your efforts in Customer Service, Human Resources, the Volunteer Dept., lecturing, writing, interpreting dreams, and facilitating social activities – you were ALWAYS a bouyant presence, a cheerful smile, and a wealth of optimism. You left us so suddenly! Like someone who was spirited away so quickly the only thing left behind were their glasses which fell to the ground. Whooosh! Gone.

Still, I will cherish your joy at being on Oceana’s flight line and then how much you enjoyed going to this year’s Oceana “practice” air show. We had the best center bleacher seats! You jumped everytime the two Blue Angels jets did the cross-over on the center of the runway!

Sorry you won’t be able to take up those flying lessons.

I will forever cherish the beautiful golden scarf you knitted for me.

Blessings to you on your sacred journey!

Love, love, love, Candis

The ARE will miss your help with yard sales, picnics, special occasions, volunteer activities, newsletters, spa assistance, and more. The animal organizations will miss your generous collections of food, accessories, and bedding. Animals and people alike felt unconditionally accepted and loved by you.

I enjoyed our walks over these past months; you had recovered so well from your knee surgery. I will always remember your zest for travelling, dancing, going to plays and movies, eating out with friends, seeing an air show with Candis or the Boardwalk art show with Carol, exploring the meaning of a dream or the latest good book, discussing pop culture or spiritual concepts, learning something new like playing the guitar, knitting, painting, or having fun in any way that presented itself. All of us wanted to be around you. You relished every topic and always kept the conversation interesting.

You embraced so many warmly and graced us with your smile. Thank you for your love. I’ll miss your cheerful friendship.

Love and light, Mary Warren

So long and farewell, my beautiful Gemini friend! What a beautiful, uplifting soul you are and I know that God is happy to have you in His company! Methinks heaven needed a lot more laughter and more of those bright smiles! You are missed here but I know we will see each other again one day; then we get to return and have fun together! Here’s a cosmic hug from me to you. Love you.
