Dear Elerick family,

I felt compelled to express my condolences on Sean’s passing. I first met Sean after my father Chester Mick passed away three years ago. Sean handled all the financials for my mother. He was such a kind and compassionate man towards us, and my father had the greatest respect for him. I only had the pleasure to spend a few hours with him, but in that short time I learned that he valued his family and in particular his sons. They were the world to him. I know that he loved his family and I know that he will be greatly missed. May God watch over all of you.

Sincerely,

Karen Mick-Craig

Diane and family.

We are just so sorry to hear of your sudden loss of Sean. He has been such a great support to us at the bank and after our move to Florida he has been so helpful. We respected his knowledge and his kind and caring ways. We always admired what a beautiful family you were when we would see you at church. Please accept our deepest sympathy and may God Bless and keep all of you in the palm of his hand.

Diane and sons,

Sean was a true friend and I will miss him deeply. We talked football alot, and often spoke of our children. He was very modest but I could see how proud he was of the boys in school and sports and how much much he loved his family. Don’t hesitate to call on me for anything.

Diane and the Boys:

Our hearts are broken over the loss of a truly great guy. He loved you all so much. He cherished his time in “The Valley” with all his friends and his family. I will miss our phone chats and all the laughs we had. There will be a large void left by Sean.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you guys. God Bless.

Diane,

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Sean as a vibrant little boy who would run across the floor of his parents home, fall

down and get back up to run across that floor once again — never giving up. I was so proud of him for being one of the first in our family to go to a prestigious college and do the hard work it takes to graduate. Thank you for the love that you have for him.

Diane, this is Jeff Crowley the person you spoke briefly with a few weeks ago. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sean and I were coworkers at Huntington and shared a lot of time talking about football and soccer but mostly about our kids. He was so very proud of his boys. Eventhough we did not work together for a few years he would always find time to call me and we would then talk for a long time just catching up on what was going on in each others’ lives. I know Sean was a Christian and eventhough I can not understand this I find comfort knowing he is in a better place and hope you do as well. I trust you are surrounded by a good support team but if you ever have a question that you need help with please call me anytime. It would be an honor to help. As I said on the phone a few weeks back, Sean was my friend and I will truly miss him. God Bless!

Diane, Trey, & Quintin,

My prayers go to you and your family today and always. Life is always what we make of it, and Sean made a lot of it. I don’t think I hardly ever remember seeing him without a smile on his face. Diane, please know that if there is anything I can do for your family in the months to come please don’t be afraid to ask. I know as we grow up we grow apart, but you’re always a part of my family. I will also miss the Friday night football games and small talk with Sean along the fence.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.

So He reached out to you and whispered “come to me.”

With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away.

A wonderful friend and father, we could not make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Sean at Wittenberg and was there with him for four years. He was a true friend and one of the most independent people I ever knew. Sean loved “the Valley” and was fiercely loyal to his old buddies. As I visited with Sean over the past few weeks, and talked about the old days, I was reminded of what an original person he truly was. I also saw how incredibly proud he was of his family.

Sean was one of my best friends all through high school. After our graduation in 1984 he made keeping in touch with his buddies a priority in his life. We were able to remain in touch up until the point of his illness.

I will always remember Sean as a guy that did what he wanted. He was a Penn State fan when everyone else loved Ohio State. When everyone else was going to OU, OSU and Kent State, Sean went to Wittenberg. He had a plan and he stuck to it. He was fiercely loyal to his family, to his friends, and to his sports.

I’ll miss him more than I will probably ever admit in person.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family.
