Samuel F. McClellan, 69, of Hancock Street, Moundsville, WV, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.
He was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Benwood, WV, son of the late Samuel and Minnie Ellen Graebe McClellan.
He was a retired coal miner from Consol Coal Co., Ireland Mine, Moundsville; a Baptist; a member of the American Legion, Earl Francis Post 3, VFW Post 437 and FOE Aerie 499, all in Moundsville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Samuel F. McClellan, Jr., and a brother, Theodore McClellan.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Wayne McClellan; three daughters, Karen Farmer and her husband Doug of Valley Grove, WV, Beverly Pelham of Wheeling, and Bonita Palmer and her husband Edward of Parkersburg, WV; a stepson, William L. Wayne and his wife Janice of Proctor, WV; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Burge and her husband, Ed, of Proctor, WV, Tonya Woods and her husband Chuck of Cameron, WV; a sister Nancy Carter of Moundsville,WV; 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, with the Rev. Eddie Wills officiating. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
