Ruth Wiseman, 87 of East Liverpool was taken by the Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Monroe County, Ohio on December 29, 1927 a daughter to the late Clyde and Eva Workman Butler. She attended Center School in Monroe County, Ohio and later attended Calcutta School until the 8th grade. Mrs. Wiseman lived most of her life in this area, residing at Calcutta Health Care since 2003. Ruth worked at Homer Laughlin China Co. for a short time, where she met her husband Gerald R. Wiseman Sr. whom she married on September 30, 1948. She was a member of Grace Baptist Temple, enjoyed crocheting, crafting and volunteered at the Tri State Coon Hunters Club and loved country music.
She raised seven children, five sons: Clyde “Butch” Wiseman of Monaca, PA, Gerald L. Wiseman of Calcutta, OH, Ray Wiseman of Arkansas, Bill Wiseman of Johnsonville, WV and Ernie Wiseman of Wintersville, OH; two daughters: Mildred Wagoner of East Liverpool, OH and Ruby Miller-Bryant of Lesage, WV; two brothers: Jim Butler of East Liverpool, OH and Dale Butler of Calcutta, OH; one sister: Alice Riffle of Belington, WV; Eighteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald R. Wiseman Sr.; four brothers: Harold Workman, Paul, Roger and Donald Butler; two sisters: Evelyn Butler and Ethel Tice and a grandson: Bill Emmrick.
Service will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Paul Sturm officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 2 -4 and 6 – 8 PM.

Every time we went to Aunt Ruth’s and Uncle Gerald’s home, they were very hospitable to us.. We will miss her. We loved her very much, Love and prayers to her family.

Grandma, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be there to tell you how much you meant to me , what an special person you were , and to thank you for helping shape me for who I am today . One day I hope to see you again so I can tell you that , thank you , and say I LOVE YOU GRANDMA !
