Ruth M. Irwin
Age 81

Ruth M. Irwin, 81, of Glenn Street, East Liverpool, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at the home of her son, Keith.

A lifelong resident, she was born in East Liverpool, OH on October 28, 1920 and was the daughter of the late, David Colemen and Hazel Rice Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William R. Irwin, whom she married December 6, 1945. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Wayne Coleman, Dick Coleman and Jerry Abe Coleman and 4 sisters, Betty Coleman, Mrs. Lloyd Doe Eynon, Mrs. Robert Helen Plummer and Violet Viv Grove.

During World War II, Mrs. Irwin worked at Patterson Wright Airfield Defense Plant in Dayton, OH. She also worked at Goodyear in Akron, OH and Treadwell in Midland, PA. After the war she worked at the T.S. & T Pottery in Chester, West Virginia as a dippers helper. She was an Honorary Member of the International Brotherhood of Operated Potters and Allied Workers.

Mrs. Irwin is survived by 2 sons, Michael R. Irwin and his wife, Dorothy of East Liverpool, OH and Keith D. Irwin and his wife, Sandra with whom she resided;
3 brothers, Larry Chub Coleman and his wife, Belva of Chester, WV, Keith Coleman of East Liverpool, OH and Jack Coleman and his wife, Maxine of East Liverpool, OH; 2 sisters, Patty Curry of Calcutta, Ohio and Charlene Higgins of East Liverpool, OH; 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the East Liverpool Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, June 21, 2002 at 10:00 AM with Pastor James Read from the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in East Liverpool today, Thursday, June 20, 2002 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
