Ruth Florence Morris, 89, entered into rest on Friday March 26, 2004.
She was born in St. Louis, MO and she was the widow of Glenn W. Morris and had shared thirty-nine years of loving devotion with him. She was active in the Berkeley Senior Citizens Club in Missouri.
She was a Virginia Beach resident for over fifteen years. She attended the Avalon Church of Christ in Virginia Beach. She was an active member of The Red Hat Society.
She was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and dear friend.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Brian Rivard of Virginia Beach; a son and daughter-in-law Roger and Sharon Morris of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Heather and Mark Oakes, Paula and Greg Stewart, Jennifer Rivard, Laura Rivard, Kevin Morris, Brandon Morris, Cheryl Morris, and Matthew Kessel; four great-grandsons Brandon Oakes, Zachary Stewart, Tyler Oakes, and Caleb Stewart; as well as dear friends Bill and Rita Bunner, and their children Jon, Jess, Carra, Allissa, and Kelli.
A funeral service will be conducted in The Avalon Church of Christ 844 Woodstock Road, Virginia Beach on Monday March 29, 2004 at 7:00pm.The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00pm until service time.
A memorial service will be conducted in The First Baptist Church Ferguson in Saint Louis, MO on Thursday April 1, 2004 at 5:00pm.
Private burial will take place in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
