Ruth E. Reed

Age 73

Ruth E. Reed 73, of Clark Avenue, Wellsville, Ohio died Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Wellsville, Ohio on October 19, 1928, the daughter of the late Franklin C. and Myrtle Snyder Vermillion.

Mrs. Reed lived living her entire life in the area, retired from Hoges Restaurant, where she was a waitress for 35 years. She graduated from Wellsville High School in 1946 and was a charter member of the Lady Elks Lodge #1040 in Wellsville. She attended the Maranatha Chapel.

She is survived by her husband, Harry E. ”Goog” Reed, whom she married February 15, 1947; a son, Karl F. ”Butch” Reed and his wife Cindy of Wellsville, OH; two daughters, Karen Heffner of Wellsville, OH and Karla E. Moffett and her husband, Jeff of Conway, South Carolina; a sister, Dorothy Rudder of Wellsville, OH; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Reed, who died December 1978, and a grandson, Mike Heffner.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, Decemebr 21, 2001 at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Paulovich, of the church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will be present at the funeral home in Calcutta, to receive friends on Thursday, December 20, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
