Ruth E. Householder, age 91 of Wellsville, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Boardman on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
Born May 20th, 1923, Ruth was the daughter of the late Isaac Newton Maggard and Sarah Grace Blackburn. She lived most of her life in this area except for a short time she resided in Olive Hill, Kentucky where she acquired many fond childhood memories.
Ruth was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family. Ruth was also a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses where she spent many years learning and sharing with others, God’s wonderful promises for mankind’s future.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence B. Householder, on December 11th, 1975.
Survivors include a son, Paul Householder and his wife, Marilyn of Wellsville, two daughters, Verna Hamilton of Columbiana and Betsy Williams and her husband Mark of Calcutta. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence J. Householder and Carl L. Householder, five brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at the East Liverpool Kingdom Hall on Saturday, May 2 at 2:00 P.M. with Richard Fry officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
The Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
Ruth was one of my Mom’s best friends, both of them coming from Olive Hill, Ky. Some of my earliest memories are of being at Ruth’s house. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.
